How can I get rid of the popup ads that show up in Jalopnik even with the blocker engaged in my browser.. today it's Bucky Lascek (sic), and I can't get rid of it? Any ideas?

Find Nick Denton and smack him in the face with a post-it note on the palm of your hand.

Move to Canada, we hardly get any ads at all. Yesterday, I saw three different static ads below the "Popular Stories" on the left, and that's an all-time high.

Here's another thing: Jalopnik claims that they don't put advertisements for car manufacturers on their website as to stay unbiased, but sometimes I've seen it covered in Lexus ads or Jeep ads or Subaru ads. That's not right. But anyway, try Chrome Adblock Plus.

Chrome + Ad Block Plus + turn off autoplay for Flash. Works great plus if you use Facebook that last step stops the damn videos from autoplaying there...

Thanks all. I inconveniently forgot to mention that I'm using Firefox as the browser, but I'll check it out. EDIT: Found Adblock Plus for Firefox as well. Will give it a whirl. Thanks again y'all.
